Biomedical, Behavioral, and Allied Health Sciences Center

Delaware State University is a public, comprehensive, 1890 land-grant institution. The mission of the University is to provide for the citizens of Delaware and others who attend the University a meaningful and relevant education that emphasizes both the liberal and professional aspects of higher education. Within this context, the University provides educational opportunities to all qualified citizens of the state and other states at a cost consistent with the economic status of the students as a whole. While recognizing its historical heritage, the University serves a diverse student population with a broad range of programs in instruction, service, and research, so that its graduates will become competent, productive, and contributing citizens.

BBAHC Mission

The Biomedical, Behavioral, and Allied Health Center (BBAHC) is to strengthen the University’s capacity to serve as a higher education institution within the State of Delaware that will serve as a catalyst for research, outreach programming, and experiential learning/training. In addition, the BBAHC will provide guidance to the state and work collaboratively with other organizations to provide an integration of research and service delivery.

BBAHC Goals

  1. To conduct biomedical, behavioral, and allied health research.
  2. To provide a research and clinical training site for Delaware State University students and faculty.
  3. To enhance collaborations with other community partners within the State of Delaware.
  4. To improve community outreach and promote integrated health care services for the citizens in the State of Delaware.
  5. Provide a culturally relevant and holistic approach to providing best practices surrounding research and behavioral/allied healthcare.
